editor’s note

Dear Readers,

Welcome to Total Wellness, the premier health and wellness publication of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Launched on February 5th, 2019, this website represents the organization’s official transition from a traditional print magazine to a digital media platform.

Total Wellness has seen some massive changes throughout the years, and this website represents our efforts to modernize with the times, and to continue to empower the students to learn objective health information. With our digital space, we hope to showcase all of the hard work our team continues to produce, and we strive to provide access to quality content that ultimately educates and inspires readers to pursue a healthier life.

Thanks for reading!

our mission

Total Wellness is a division of the UCLA Student Wellness Commission (SWC), dedicated to spreading awareness of and sharing knowledge on issues of student health through a digital media platform and an annual print publication. By providing an understanding of health issues, elucidating health concepts, providing recommendations for physical, mental, and social well-being, and making visible and accessible various health resources, programs, and events occurring at UCLA, Total Wellness seeks to empower students with up-to-date and accurate knowledge on the appropriate management of their health.

 our history

Total Wellness is a continuing endeavor started by the Student Welfare Commission in the 90's and refounded in 2009. Total Wellness is currently a division of the Student Wellness Commission. The organization has come a long way since its humble roots as a quarterly newsletter and has since been committed to building a quality magazine publication replete with a highly trained and talented staff of writers and designers, internal review board, and medical review board of UCLA MDs, PhDs, RDs, and other UCLA health experts and professionals. We have expanded with a program team that runs events on UCLA’s campus, helping hundreds of students relieve through stress and cultivate a healthier environment.
